I am a professional music tutor and vocalist based in Billericay, Essex and serving the whole of the county. I provide inspiring and motivating private tuition in piano and singing for students of all ages, as well as running choirs for adults and children. I am available to hire as a vocalist for functions, parties and weddings, or any other event which requires that extra-special touch which only live music can provide.  Biography

I began my musical education at the age of 4, studying piano and violin with Marilyn Goodman and Sarah Crew. Throughout my school years I was a keen musician and performer, competing at festivals across the county and performing with Brentwood Junior String Orchestra at both local venues and The Royal Albert Hall.

Whilst studying for my GCSEs I began taking singing lessons under the tutorage of Sally Macleod and joined Chelmsford Young Generation Amateur Musical Society, performing with them at the Civic and Cramphorn Theatres in Chelmsford. It was then that I realised that my future lay in the music and performing arts industry.

After completing my A Levels I continued my training at Sir Paul McCartney’s Stage School The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts where I studied for a LIPA Diploma in Performing Arts (Song), passing with Distinction. Upon leaving LIPA I earned a place at Rose Bruford College of Theatre and Performance, Sidcup, where I studied Actor Musicianship, leaving in 2008 with a 2:1.

Since leaving full-time education I have continued to study singing at Vox Box Vocal Studios in London, and with my childhood piano teacher, Marilyn Goodman. My range of experience and training means that I am a highly skilled and versatile performer, able to sing songs from the Classics, through Musical Theatre/Music Hall favourites, to the music of the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s, on to today’s chart hits and everything in between! I am fully-equipped for performance with my own PA-system and Yamaha stage piano. I perform either self-accompanied on the piano or with backing tracks. I have been teaching since 2009, running a successful singing department at San Marie Stage School, and providing private piano tuition at Billericay Music Academy; before setting up on my own at the beginning of 2012. Inspired by the fantastic teachers I have been fortunate enough to work with; I am passionate about teaching and have excellent relationships with all my students. Under my guidance, many of my students have competed at local music festivals and taken exams. All have achieved Merit or Distinction in exams, and many have won prizes. However, I also have many students who choose to learn just for fun. My priority is that all students develop at the right pace for them and enjoy their music training. I run all my private lessons from home in a fully-equipped studio with an upright acoustic piano made by WH Barnes, PA system and Yamaha Stage Piano. Click here for more information about teaching.
